Resurrection Sunday: A Playlist

March 29, 2018

I'm excited about this Sunday. Sundays generally tend to excite me, but this coming Sunday is special. This Sunday is Resurrection Sunday.

There's nothing particularly special about the date or the time of year (this Sunday also happens to be April Fool's Day by shear coincidence). The tradition of Resurrection Sunday simply serves as a set time to focus on the beginning of life. Like a birthday. The best birthday.

"Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin."

- Romans 6:4-7

I'm especially excited to lead our congregation in the following lines from "It is Finished" by Matt Papa, "Song of the Redeemed" by Charlie Hall, and "Kids" by Citizens and Saints. I've arranged the lines in a medley because there is a limit to how many songs a congregation will remain standing for, and medleys are the only way to bypass that limit.

It is finished,It is done

To the world Salvation comes

Hallelujah, We're alive

Hell was silenced when You cried

It is Finished, It is done

Now completed, the work of Love

Hallelujah, He's alive

Join the song of the ransomed Bride

We are yours

There's nothing better than to know we belong

We've been adopted by the father of love                       Our brother suffered on the cross in our place

We are kids of grace
